Broncos defeated by SAIT Trojans at home opener

OLDS, AB - Olds College Broncos Women's Basketball team is defeated by SAIT Trojans at the Home Opener for Olds College on Saturday November 13, 2021.

The game starts off evenly matched between the Olds College Broncos & the SAIT Trojans.  Points alternate back and forth as momentum grows for Trojans. The Trojans take a slight lead half way through the first quarter after sinking a three-pointer. The first quarter ends with SAIT leading 27-17 over the Olds College Broncos. 

The Broncos come out strong in the second quarter. Their defence tightens and they fight to close the gap on offense. The intensity of the game increases as the Broncos continue to close the gap finishing off the second quarter done by two points to the Trojans in a 36-34 score. 

Broncos come out strong after half time to tie up the game 36-36 at the beginning of the third  quarter. The Trojans don't let up and remain consistent in their game play and foul shots throughout the quarter. The quarter ends with the Trojans leading 53-43 over the Broncos. 

The SAIT Trojans continue to dominate the game as the point differential increases in the fourth and final quarter. The Broncos continue to fight but can't seem to catch the Trojans. The game ends with the final score of 66-58 for the SAIT Trojans. 

The player of the game for the SAIT Trojans goes to #9 Brook Baker & Olds College Broncos #9 Alli Taylor.

The Olds College Broncos will play next on Friday November 19 against the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings at RDP.
