Set one started off with high intensity from both teams. After SAIT claimed the first couple of points, the Olds College Broncos came back to take a tight lead early on. Points continued to go back and forth throughout the set as the set was full of rallies. Consistency in their serves earned the SAIT Trojans the last point of the set. The first set finishes with the SAIT Trojans winning 25-23.
