Graham Walkey Joins Team Canada
From Broncos to Team Canada: Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Graham Walkey Named to National Team
Broncos women's volleyball head coach, Graham Walkey, will represent Canada on the national stage this summer after being named assistant coach with Volleyball Canada's Girls Red and White Program. The program is designed to identify and develop some of the country's top young volleyball talent, bringing together 30 U16 athletes from across Canada for training and competition at the 2026 Canada Cup in Regina, Sask.
The appointment marks another milestone in Walkey's coaching career and recognizes his continued impact on the sport at both the collegiate and national levels.
"I am both honoured and excited to represent the Maple Leaf for the first time in my coaching career," Walkey shared. "The Red and White program is the first opportunity for youth athletes to compete within the Team Canada pipeline and I am looking forward to playing a part in their growth and development as both volleyball players and people. This will be an incredible opportunity for my own development as a coach as I will get to work with and learn from some of the best coaches and athletes in the country."
The 2026 Canada Cup will take place in Regina from July 22-26, bringing together elite provincial and national development athletes from across the country. Prior to competition, athletes and coaches will participate in a two week training camp focused on technical development, team systems and high-performance preparation.
Walkey will work alongside head coaches Jen Neilson and Janelle Rozema, as well as assistant coaches Ian Bennett, Stacey Laing and Megan Kalbfleisch. The experience will provide an opportunity to help develop the next generation of Canadian volleyball talent while also bringing valuable national team experience back to the Broncos program.
From Broncos Blue to the Maple Leaf, Walkey's appointment is a standout for the athletics program and the community. For Walkey and the Broncos, the appointment represents both pride and progression on the national stage.
