Broncos Athletics Celebrates Athletic & Academic Excellence at the 2021-22 Awards Night
For the first time since 2019, Broncos Athletics held their annual Awards Night to recognize student-athlete achievements. The 2021-22 Broncos Awards Night had a great turnout by student-athletes, Broncos Athletics staff, Olds College Executive,faculty and partners of the Broncos.

For the first time since 2019, Broncos Athletics held their annual Awards Night to recognize student-athlete achievements. The 2021-22 Broncos Awards Night had a great turnout by student-athletes, Broncos Athletics staff, Olds College Executive,faculty and partners of the Broncos. Emceed by Broncos alum Bernd Van'T Klooster of CabK Broadcasting the evening was full of laughs and positive vibes all around.
The evening got started with the recognition of two of our very own Broncos Coaches as Women's Hockey Coach Chris Leeming was recognized as the ACAC Women's Hockey Coach of the Year and Men's Volleyball Coach Ryan Marsden was named as the ACAC Men's Volleyball South Division Coach of the Year and the CCAA National Coach of the Year. Following the acknowledgement of the coaches, a great season recap video produced by Haiden Hurtig was played which also featured an In Memoriam tribute for late Broncos Badminton Coach Gokarn Ramdhani.
"It was an incredible night to be back together celebrating the outstanding achievements of our student-athletes and coaches. Congratulations to all of the award winners on their fantastic seasons. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Broncos this season", stated Broncos Athletics Manager Trina Radcliffe.
As the evening continued, the event shifted focus to the awards section as each team celebrated a Rookie of the Year, an Impact Athlete of the Year, and an overall Athlete of the Year before an athletics wide winner was named for each category.
In order to be nominated for Rookie of the Year, a student- athlete must be in their first season of eligibility/participation in intercollegiate sport, exemplary character, sportsmanship and integrity, made outstanding contributions to the team in competition, and maintained a cumulative GPA over 2.0.
