Broncos lose home opener to the Trojans

The SAIT Trojans spoiled the Olds College Broncos home opener on Friday evening, picked up a dominant win at the Ralph Klein Center, winning in straight sets (25-16, 25-10, 25-12).

The game reached its closest point halfway through the first set, as SAIT led the Broncos 13-7. However, from that point forward, the Trojans took advantage of Broncos mistakes and hammered kills into the court to take the set 25-16.

SAIT played an even stronger set in the second, winning eight of nine points in the middle of the set to help them on their way to a 25-10 win.

SAIT was able to finish off the home Broncos in the third. After the Broncos came out firing and took their first lead up 4-3, the Trojans took over control, winning the set 25-12 for their first victory of the season.

Players of the game were awarded to Trent Mounter on the Trojans following the match and to Braden Bates from the Broncos.

The two teams will meet again Saturday evening at SAIT at 8 P.M.
