Broncos explode offensively, cruise to victory over RDC

On Thursday evening in Olds the Olds College Broncos (6-6) scored early and often, upsetting the Red Deer College Kings (7-5) 120-82.

Samual Willis III was named player of the game for the Broncos, finishing with a double-double scoring 26 points and adding 13 rebounds. Omon Edobar was named player of the game for the Kings with 21 points.

Linden Jackson was a dominant force on the floor for the Broncos all evening long, controlling the offense and pitching in with outside shooting.

The Broncos shooters were out in full force in the first quarter, as the team went 6-12 from the three point line in the quarter en-route to a 34-25 first quarter lead.

Linden Jackson led the charge for the Broncos in the quarter, making three 3-pointers for 13 total points.

The Broncos continued where they left off in the second frame. Samuel Willis III, Abe Murray, Terence Crisotomo all joined Jackson in the three point fun. At the half Jackson led the Broncos with 18 points, followed by Willis III with 17.

The Broncos led 62-41 at the half.

Olds wasn't prepared to take their foot off the gas in the third, and what they lacked in shooting in the quarter they made up for with defense, allowing only 18 points in the quarter while scoring 21.

The Broncos were able to let the bench take over from there, as 11 different Broncos pitched in on the score sheet in what would be the Broncos highest scoring quarter with 37 points.

The two teams will play the back end of their home and home on Saturday in Red Deer at 8 P.M.
