January 25 2010: The second tournament of the season was a tough weekend for the men with only 6 players. All the players played hard in all three games and our goalie, Peter Gouwenberg, played outstanding in net with some amazing saves. "The guys played their hearts out, I was proud of the way they played as a team and how they showed passion for the game" said Coach Steve. Broncos Captain, Steve Shivas scored 2 goals in the tournament and new player, Raul Saouedra scored 1 goal. "The odds were against the Broncos Men's team with only 6 players, but they fought hard and did not stop playing for the duration of the tournament. At the end of the night the guys were OK with how they played."

Heading into the third season of Futsal at Olds College, the team looks to improve on it’s first two years performance.  The team finished 5th in its first year, and were very competitive making the final four tournament in the second year.  The FIFA endorsed  sport of futsal is relatively new to Alberta, and is a very fast, skilled   version of indoor soccer that ACAL and ACAC both have.   Alberta has 18 post-secondary institutions playing futsal in 2009/10.   If you have not seen the game played before, come out and show your Black and Gold Pride.
