Broncos volleyball teams gearing up for home opener

The Olds College Broncos volleyball squads look to get their seasons started on the right foot this Friday evening when the SAIT Trojans come to town.

Because October is Breat Cancer Awareness month, many of the student athletes will be sporting pink gear, and they welcome those in attendence to join in as well.

Both the women and the men's teams look to be much improved for the 2017-18 season. The women sported a 6-18 record in last year's ACAC play, but head coach Landon Thompson has brought in 11 new recruits in an attempt to right the ship.

Meanwhile, the men find themselves amidst a transition year. After a winless 2016-17 campaign, head coach Darryl Noel has only four returning athletes who will hit the court on Friday.

Tickets for Friday's games can be purchased on site before first serve. Adults get in for $10 while those 12-17 can purhcase tickets for $5. As always, Olds College students get free access to each and every Broncos game throughout the 2017-18 season.
